AppleTV - itunes store is temporarily unavailable - please check back later
When attempting to rent a movie on ATV, my wife received the error message above. Alternately “server unavailable”. When your wife is sick, the amount of IT support she needs goes up exponentially. One piece of the puzzle was that she had changed her Apple ID password. On her PC I ran iTunes and under account, there was only 1 device listed (not the ATV). Even when signed out/back-in on the ATV under Settings>iTunes it still gave same error message. What I suspect is it thinks she is trying to ......

Chrome OS is missing or damaged
My Google Chrome CR-48 started flaking out/rebooting and finally this message. This post solved the problem quite easily. http://cr-48.wikispaces.com... Can’t use WD Elements as internal drive anymore

The quest for a better mouse
I picked up a Microsoft Explorer Mouse with BlueTrack Technology for my wife for Christmas (really, it's for her). It lists at $80 but I got it for $50. The big selling feature is the ability to track over any surface. It works great! You've had it happen. Your on the road, the hotel desk is too plastic and your mouse pointer is jumping all over the place. You put a piece of paper under the mouse but it slides too. Arrrrr. Two other things I like is the NiMH battery charger (the mouse sits on top ......

Upgrade laptop hard drive using freeware disk cloning software
I wanted to upgrade to a 160 GB SATA drive for my laptop. In the past I've just gone the reload-from-scratch path, on a weekend, usually in front of the TV. I've even been a fan of this method, as it refreshes your system and gets rid of all that junk that you've acquired and may not even know you have. Not this time, however, as I wanted to get it done quicker, and since I'm cheap, I didn't want to buy anything. Enter Seagate's DiscWizard. It's made by Acronis (makers of True Image) and can do two ......
